Frequently Asked Questions

In the font-family dropdown list, how do I specify a fallback font?

Short answer is, you can't. Why? Because I've already done it for you. I've already gone through all of the fonts in the font-family dropdown list and found out the ideal fallback font(s) to use for each one. Although you can't actually see the fallback font names, just know that they are there, and they will show up in your generated CSS code. Read the section on font-family for more info.

I don't want to see 3 columns of text at once, how can I change it so that I only see 1?

To change the number of columns you see on the screen on once you need to change the "View" setting. Click on the appropriate icon for the number of columns you wish to see next to the word "View:". Read the section on Choosing a Preferred View for more info.

Everytime I make changes, it always updates column 1, how do I change the styles for column 2 and 3?

That's because column 1 is the currently seleted column (by default). You need to change the "currently selected column" to update the styles of a different column. How do you do it? It's easy. Look for the word "Edit:" and choose the appropriate icon for the column you wish to edit. Read the section on Choosing a Column To Edit for more info.

I don't see XYZ font in your font-family dropdown list. Why isn't it there, can you add it?

The fonts I've included in the font-family dropdown list are simply the fonts I have on my machine. If you would like a new font added to the list simply e-mail me with the name of the font and I'll be glad to add it.

What fonts do you recommend?

Personally I would recommend the Arial, Verdana, Times New Roman, or Georgia fonts. These seem to be the most commonly used fonts used on the web today.

How long did it take to make this site?

Hmm, I think it took me about a week to make the site and another week to write the help section :)

Are there any sites similar to this one that allow me to preview/generate code for other things such as HTML tables or forms?

Although sites like that would be useful, I haven't seen any spectacular ones as of yet. However, I do plan on making a few myself. Currently I'm working on a tab strip generator (for making horizontal and vertical tabs on webpages), a headline generator (for generated image-based headlines), an Adsense color scheme generator and an HTML table and form generator. If you would like to be notified when any of these tools are complete, simply send me an e-mail and let me know you are interested.

I've just created this fantastic new color scheme, is there anywhere on this site I can share it with others and see color schemes other people have created?

Not as of yet. However, in the future there will be. If you've put together a color scheme you think looks cool and you'd like to share it simply e-mail me the CSS Code for it. When I get enough submissions (25 or so), I'll put up a "Popular Color Schemes" page showcasing all of the different color schemes people have come up with.

I have an idea for a suggestion or a comment, how can I contact you?

That's great! I always love hearing feedback, comments, and suggestions from people. Simply use my contact form to send me an e-mail.
